1.    How are the goods packed?
Our standard packing method is the use of single face wrapping carton, except if such would cause in any risk for damage. However on request and against cost price we will pack in carton boxes, with or without direct printing. Some items are standard packed in boxes (like reclinable chairs, deckchairs) to avoid damage, others are in fact never packed in boxes (for instance assembled benches, assembled indoor furniture etc.). Please keep in mind that packing in boxes will decrease the load ability of any type of container with approximately 15%. At the other side, carton boxes enables the products to be stacked easier, and the level of damage risk is practically nil.

2.    How much should I order to have a container filled?
If you receive a quotation from us, the volume of every item will be mentioned, and total volumes will be calculated after filling in the desired quantity, as well as a percentage for each type of container which shows how full a container will be with the selected items and their quantity. For your information, please find  below some container details:

3.    Is there a minimum quantity per item required?
No.

4.    Is it possible to order less than one container?
Yes, however product prices will be a little higher, and the transportation costs per cubic meter, compared with container transport will be significantly higher. In such case, goods will be packed in wooden box pallets.

5.    How long is the delivery time?
Under normal circumstances the delivery time will be about 4-6 weeks for garden furniture and 6-8 weeks for indoor furniture (for "custom made" items it might be max. 4 weeks longer) after receipt of the down payment/LC (see also: "What are the payment methods"), before shipping, for a 40FT/40FT HC container.

6.    What are the payment methods?
The total payment is split in a down payment and a balance payment.
Down payment: Where most exporters require a down payment which is a certain percentage of the pro forma invoice (normally at least 30% up to 50%), we tried to keep it more simple with a fixed down payment of US$ 2000/20FT Container, or US$ 4000/40FT (HC) Container, or equivalent regardless of the total value of the products to be loaded. This means that under normal circumstances the amount of the down payment will be much lower than using a certain percentage. As soon as the down payment has been received, we will proceed with your order, and keep you updated about the progress.
Balance payment: For payment of the balance payment there are two possibilities:
1. The most used procedure is to transfer the balance payment to us after you received a copy of the Bill of Lading either by e-mail or fax, but at latest two weeks before the date of arrival of the container at the country of destination, to enable us to courier all the documents on time. Documents will be send by a first class courier service, at latest 48 hours after the balance payment has been received.
2. The balance payment might also be paid by an irrevocable letter of credit at sight from a first class bank in our favor. Because of the higher administration fees and bank commissions involved, consignee will be charged with 1% of the invoice grand total and eventual costs of amendments in case the conditions wouldn't be workable. Therefore we always strongly advise to fax/e-mail the concept text of the intended L/C first before really opening it. We regret to inform you that we do not accept the full payment to be covered by a L/C, only the balance payment.

7.    Which documents will I receive and when?
Standard you will  receive the following documents:
- At least 3 original and 2 copy's of the Bill of Lading; (view example here)
- 1 original certificate of origin (Form-A) and 3 copies; (view example here)
- 1 Insurance policy and its conditions;
- 3 original invoice;
- 3 original packing list.

On request we will also provide a certificate of fumigation, however standard we do not fumigate the containers because it is absolutely unnecessary for teakwood products, and can sometime cause problems and extra costs with the customer clearance at destination port in case of a physical check of the container's content.

8.    Will the freight be insured?
All our shipments will be insured by an ICC-A transport insurance (war risk included) by Q.B.E. Pool Indonesia.

9.    Is it possible to have logo's attached on the furniture?
Yes. Just provide us with a picture/sketch how the logo should look like, or if you haven't any, we will design one for you according your wishes, which we will send you by e-mail, together with its price, for confirmation.

10.  What are the terms of delivery?
All our prices and quotations are based on "F.O.B. Semarang port" (F.O.B. = "Free On Board"), and always includes the insurance fee.

11.  What other costs are involved besides the costs of the FOB product costs?
When the container arrives at the port of destination you will have to pay the sea freight costs and the local costs at port of destination to the local transport agent. The height of these costs depends on the country of destination, container type, carrier, and geographical distance from the harbor to your location. For more information please contact your nominated transport agent, or if you won't nominate a freight forwarder, we will provide you with some quotations of several freight forwarders.

12.  Is there any import tax involved for teakwood furniture?
In combination with the certificate of origin which we will provide, in most countries no import tax will be applicable. In case of doubt please contact the local transport agent or your country's customer clearance office.

13.  Can empty spaces in the container be filled up with other materials besides furniture?
Yes. Filling up empty spaces is a request that we receive very frequently. It enables you to keep the transportation overhead costs expressed as a percentage of the product value of what's inside the container, as low as possible. For example: Suppose that you would fill a 40ft standard container with only shop cabinets. After about 22 shop cabinets the container will be full, and the product value won't even reach US$ 8000, while the freight costs will be almost 50% of this the product value for overseas destinations. However if the space in and between the cabinets would be filled up with no matter what (as long as its dimensions are not too big), the product value could be easily doubled up to US$ 16000, so the freight costs will just be 25% of this amount. Wooden statue's and junior furniture are the most used items for this purpose because we manufacture them ourselves, however products that have been used in the past varies from decorated paper gift boxes till ceramic products, from teddy bears till pillows. In general indoor furniture will cause (much) more "open" spaces in a container than garden furniture

14.  How can I re-calculate prices in my country's currency?
The data we use as our reference and where exchange rates of (almost) all currency's can be found is on www.xe.com.

15.  I can't find what I'm looking for on this website. Is it possible to order other models/sizes?
This website does not pretend to be a complete overview about what is possible but should be considered as a general overview, because the possibilities regarding models and sizes are practically unlimitted. The mentioned sizes should be considered as the most standard sizes, but does not mean that you wouldn't be able to order other sizes. We can manufacture any size, any model. Just provide us with a drawing/sketch/picture, and we will quote with our best price. What's more; also for "custom made" models/sizes there's NO minimum quantity required per item, however a considerable longer delivery time should be accepted (see also question 5).
